Wrinkle Fillers

Injectable skin fillers have added new dimensions to the field of cosmetic dermatology, allowing new forms of facial rejuvenation and wrinkle treatment without surgery. Injectable skin and wrinkle fillers are used to increase tissue volume (as with lip augmentation), reduce wrinkles, and improve the skin´s overall contour.

Restylane ^TM

Restylane is the trade name for a specific formulation of non-animal sourced hyaluronic acid. It is composed of cross-linked long chain hyaluronic acid, and is US FDA (U.S. Food and Drug Administration) approved for cosmetic injection into sub-dermal facial tissues. Most commonly, it is injected under wrinkles and aging lines of the face such as the nasolabial folds, melomental folds, "crows feet" and forehead wrinkles. It may also be used for filling aging-related facial hollows and "orbital troughs" (under and around the eyes).

The effects of Restylane last around 6 months or sometimes more. A thicker variant of Restylane, Perlane, can be used for deeper folds and lasts approximately 9 months. Recovery time from an injection takes approximately three days, as swelling and bruising can be potential side effects.

Juvéderm ^TM

Juvéderm is used by cosmetic, dermatological and plastic surgeons to soften deep folds and reduce wrinkles in the faces of patients. The substance is chemically closely related to the facial filler Restylane; both are largely comprised of hyaluronic acid, a substance normally found in the skin, muscles, and tendons of mammals. Approved in June 2006 by the US FDA , Juvéderm´s prime use is removing nasolabial folds, or "smile lines," creases of skin which run from the corners of the nose to the corners of the mouth. It is also used as a lip augmentation agent, to fill in hollow places and scars on the face. All hyaluronic acid facial filler products are eventually absorbed by the body, usually within six to nine months, causing the patient to undergo repeat injections to maintain the younger look. Juvéderm is also used by physicians to plump up lips which also lose fat and internal shape with normal aging. Like Restylane, Juvéderm is extremely popular among consumers and medical providers alike because it results in a younger, more refreshed looking face immediately.

Radiesse ^TM

Dr. Brodsky uses Sculptra to give you a subtle, gradual improvement without having you look like you've had work done.
